Stick To It Fitness grew out my personal desire to create a healthier lifestyle. Was it the "light bulb" that went on when I was sitting eating a bag of chips, or was it how I felt physically and mentally as I looked in the mirror. Most of us have this "moment". It's what we do at this moment that can change us forever.
I faced my challenge, and decided to start my journey. I began, slowly, to increase my level of fitness by walking, running, biking, and swimming. I changed my lifestyle by adding time for exercise, time to cook and eat nutritiously, and time to educate myself. Along the way I picked up certifications in Personal Training, Sports Nutrition, and CPR. I have completed numerous races including 5k's, 10k's, Half-Marathon's, Marathon's and Ironman competitions.
Energized with all of this knowledge, stamina, and confidence, I decided to start: Stick To It Fitness to help others achieve what I have experienced.
Today I welcome the opportunity to help you achieve your goals to a healthier lifestyle. Group classes, and/or individually through Personal Training are the tools we use. My name is Donald Poore and I am the owner of Stick To It Fitness, LLC.
In January, 2003, I decided I needed a lifestyle change. Weighing 205 lbs at 5'7" and way out of shape, I began my journey to a more adventurous, nutritious,and activity filled lifestyle. By May of 2003, I had already lost 50 lbs and gained stamina, confidence, and was well on my way to accomplishing my goals. I have since ran and completed a 5k, 10k, Half Marathons, Marathons, the Goofy which consists of a Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Sat and a Full Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday (39.3 miles in two days). I also became a Triathlete by completing the multisport of triathlons which consist of swimming, biking and running. I completed Sprint and Olympic sized
Triathlons and more than a couple Half Iromans. On My Way
I completed my first Full Ironman in Madison, WI. on Sept. 12th, 2010. A full Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run (140.6 total miles) all in one day, I met my goal of finishing and feeling great, with a time of 13hrs 7min. 15sec.
What a great day this was!
